We made it!

In Scheveningen / Den Haag,Netherlands At this location we said good bye to Miss Kattie Hall of England who spent almost 30day's with the Thor as crew -Also called by her nick name (Viking Barbie) by many crew members She joined us in Urk,Netherlands for our departure she will be a truly missed crew mate on the Thor Kattie joined another ship heading back for her homeland of England. We set sail for Zeebruggee,Belgium 6 June 09 (5 am.) Thanks to a new sponsor Erick Veldhuis of the NL Sailing School in Den haag (one of the best sailing schools in the Netherlands) with 2 students from that school that was added to the Thor as a part of there last testing to become captains. "they all passed" The departure for Zeebrugge,Belgium. Future captain's Mr Frank & Frits and Wim one our last original crew mates. Zeebruggee, Begium arrival time 10pm 6 June 09 At this location port I said good bye to all crew members on the ship and I awaited There replacements. Stephen ,David & Harry Vermeirssen None had any experience with any ship other then Harry and didn't know Viking ships.,I was the teacher as always.. I introduced the crew to my first newest Belgium supporter Carine the owner of Pier 27 Lounge & Pizzeria who threw me a surprise late 50th birthday party with the new crew members. June 20 2009 6am, Test run from zeebruggee to the small dutch port of breskens. The Thor's escort ship the Lady Creole captained by Daniel Lipjes joined us at sea and helped us into port. At this location I met my 2nd in rout sponsor Ronald Lohan of Plus Supermarket,He sponsored our follow ship Lady Creole & her captain Daniel Lipjes June 24th 09 Breskens,Netherlands to Oostende,Belgium. Departure time 5:30am with the Lady Creole & her captain Daniel Lipjes follow ship along side with the Thor's two new crewmen MD Glenn & stuge both from the Netherlands. Crew- Harry Vermeirssen -Stephen -David-doc Glenn -stuge. Arrival Oostende 9pm June 24th 09 Stephen & I said good bye to this crew and awaited the replacements. Oostende,Belgium to Newport,Belgium Departure time & day June 28 at 10am. Arrival time 4pm. Newport,Belgium to England! 1/7/09 Winds to change eastward by 8pm only! Departure time set at 9:30pm night travel. Arrived at the river Thames England at 4:15 am We tied to a boei at the mouth. After several attempts to maneuver threw the sand banks & tides on our electric motors I could see no possibility's to go up the Thames in This ship -not risking the ship & crew I made the call to deliver our cargo of toys by zodiac to shore to waiting cars & trucks and return to Newport,Belgium 1/8/09 arrival time 5am as the winds changed west. I did not see this as a failed mission for the Thor knowing the dream of the ship came true (we reached England & the sick children would get the toys we brought with us from great caring people from across the Netherlands & Europe.
